Details: Monroe Township Library is pleased to
announce that the Library is “going green”.  
The Monroe Library is phasing out its use of
paper bags given to patrons for taking home
their checked-out materials and now offering
re-usable tote bags.  These re-usable totes can be purchased at
Circulation for $1.50, with all proceeds benefitting the Friends of
the Monroe Township Library. Do your part to help the environment
by getting a re-usable tote for your Library items today!

LibriVox.org- Free Audiobooks for IPods & MP3 Players

LibriVox.org provides free downloadable classic adult and children's books, short stories and poems, You can download these titles to an IPod or MP3 player or burn to a CD.

LibriVox volunteers record chapters of books in the public domain and publish the audio files on the Internet. Their goal is to record all of the books in the public domain.

Full-Text Newspaper Articles

Infotrac Custom Newspapers is a great resource that includes full-text newspaper articles from The New York Times, Newark Star Ledger, Bergen Record, The Times of London, and LA Times.

It is searchable from inside the Library and from *home.

*If you are logging in from home, you must enter your entire 14 digit library barcode number.

Here's How to Reserve Books From Home

Holds can be placed by filling out a card at any public service desk or calling the Reserve Office (732) 521-5000. Reserves can also be placed from home using the Library catalog. There is a $1 charge for holds that are not picked up.

Reserving from Home:

1. Go to our Library homepage: www.monroetwplibrary.org
2. Click "Search the Catalog" on the top of the page.

3. Enter your Library barcode number and PIN # in the white boxes on the top of the screen. Click the blue “Login for More Features” button.

4. Search for the title that you want to reserve. Click on the blue "details" button to the left of the title.

5. Click on the "Place Hold" link on the left side of the screen. This link is located under the blue "Keep" tab.

6. Monroe should be listed as the pickup location. If it is not, select it from the list and click on the blue “Place Hold” button.

7. You should see a message that says your name and the title that you have placed on reserve. Click on the blue "OK" link to confirm.

Now, when you review your account, a list of the items you have placed on hold will appear.
